FOOTBALL LOCKS

The Colts are who we thought they were. They are the defending NFL Champs and they played like it yesterday. It wasn't just the offense that looked good. You have to give credit to their Defense, that did not allow one touchdown to the explosive Saints offense.

For all you people that like looking at football games and picking game (for entertainment purposes only), here are my picks of the week:

Philly (-3) on the road against GB - I know everyone is saying that this might be Favre's last home opener. They have been saying that for 3 years. Its tough going against a home underdog in game 1 but I just don't think the Packers are any good. They have a rook at running back and Driver is hurt. The Eagles still have one of the best QBs and one of the best RBs. I'm going with Philly!

Rams (-1) at home gainst Carolina - Delhomme has not looked good but he still has Steve Smith. Smith will score but Carolina can't stop Torry Holt and Stephen Jackson, who will be an MVP candidate. Plus the Rams are on turf and the Panthers have unproven RBs.

San Diego (-6) at home against Chicago - The AFC power dominated the NFC powerhouse last night. Expect the same as LT is the best player in the game and even the great Bears Defense can't stop him. If he can't run he will catch. The Bears need Grossman to have a great game but with Cedrik Benson as his running back, the SD pass rush will be in his face all day. SD by double digits!

and if you have a parlay card and need some throw ins:

take Seattle at home (-6) versus Tampa Bay - The Buc defense is old and the 'hawk offense is healthy. Seattle still has a good defense and the Cadillac Williams and Jeff Garcia will be lucky to score in double digits.

Denver (-3) on the road versus Buffalo - The Bills have a new RB and their proven talent Lee Evans will be shut down by Champ Bailey. I don't see them scoring and Denver has a lot to prove and if they want to challenge SD this year they have to beat the Bills in a tough road game.
