OH YEAH! Its the start of another football season. For the third year in a row, I am going to hang out with good friends, while getting buzzed, just for the sole purpose of watching another NFL season get under way. And this year, we get the defending Super Bowl Champs vs everyones favorite feel good story of last year, the New Orlean Saints.
I would love to help out with gambling advice but the Colts by 6, playing at home is tough to call. The Colts were saved by their defense through much of the playoffs last season and their front 7 has dramatically changed, losing Corey Simon and Cato June. And without that defense, and with all the Saints weapons, I can see Eric Johnson being left open as Colston, Henderson, and Bush open up the middle of the field. Plus, the Colts have always sucked against the run so, Deuce, the forgotten man should be able to rack up at least a hundred years as long as the Saints don't fall behind big early.
That being said, can the Saints stop the Colts. The Colt offense is stacked and just keeps attacking. Joseph Addai is set to emerge after a great playoff run. And the receivers are always ready. Marvin Harrison is a great player who seemingly will never drop off. If he was big in the playoffs, he would get many more Jerry Rice comparisons. I think this game will have so much offense but it will be a big defensive play that is the turning point. I feel the Colts might get a big INT or fumble to decide the game because they are the home team.
I'm going COLTS 31 - SAINTS 24
but that doesnt mean I would be comfortable taking the over or the colts and the points. But if this were the SuperBowl, I would do it. There looks to be safer picks on Sunday.
