All Around Me

All around me the Earth revolves with so much that I would never pay attention to until there is a reason to pay attention---


The wind will blow
The birds will crow
and I don't even notice

The sun shines bright
And two lil kids fight
I just walk on by

A baby cries
A majestic moonrise
I don't turn me head

The lion roars
the Eagles soars
I just look down

A pedal falls from a daisy
The sky turns hazy
I decide to take a nap

The dog barks
a light bulb sparks
My ears perk up

A wife comes home
A man no longer alone
I anxiously run to the door

She flips on the light
Its the most welcome sight
I embrace her in my arms

We get ready to walk
holding her hand we talk
I take it all in

THEN she flashes that beautiful smile
She has so much grace, so much style
Not a detail goes unrecognized

The night is warm
no chance of a storm
I thank God for this night

A shooting star jets by
The crickets say hi
I'm awed by the world's intricacies

My eyes were long closed
But then my heart was exposed
And love changed my life

And now my eyes can see
The details of nature's beauty
All because she came home
