Been Busy But My Thoughts On Things I Missed

Sorry for the lack of updates. The next day was Rome and I could write a full 500 page novel on the 7 hours spent in Rome. But there has been a lot that I have missed. I haven't really discussed much sports but here are a few quick thoughts...

WARRIORS-

Here are my thoughts on Baron:

I can't really blame him for leaving. He is making way more money. He wasn't going to have a long term contract here. It was going to be his last year. In his mind, he probably didn't think he could play another 82 games without getting hurt. He had to leave. Plus, he is in his hometown. Winning isn't that important to him. He wants to produce, so let him. I didn't appreciate how adament he was about staying. But he had every right to leave. The Warriors probably feel a little led on but they should have been prepared for him to leave...

After Baron opted out and signed with the Clips, the Warriors made several rash decisions. There were giving max contracts to Gilbert Arenas and Elton Brand. Both those guys are coming off serious injuries and those contracts could have totally strapped us. But I am glad they were trying to sign a star that the fans could bond with for years to come.

Turiaf? I don't know what to think about that yet. He isn't a great rebounder. He is just a big body. They must want him for his energy. They want him to be like a Brian Cardinal from years past.

I don't know what this means but Anthony Randolph has been great in summer league. I just hear this guy is for real. That's great...for three years from now.

Corey Maggette. 5 year $50 million just sounds like too much from a guy that was just being offered the midlevel exception from other teams. I guess the Warriors want to commit. I love that he can get to the hoop and draw fouls. In fact, i think most of the warriors can get to the hoop so hopefully we won't have to see the 3 point shots with 12 seconds left on the shot clock everytime down when the starters are tired.

Marcus Williams is a good move because you need to get a guard that can guard a 2 cuz I don't know if Ellis can do that.

Thank you for resigning Azubuike. He knows the system, he can score, defend, rebound, shoot. I am really happy he won't be killing us in Staples Center.

I don't know if I will recognize the team next year but by resigning Ellis, giving Maggette the big contract, you can't say the Warriors don't spend money. They are making an effort and thats what you want from the ownership of your favorite teams.

GIANTS-

Lincecum is the man!

I wrote that we should get rid of Aurilia. Man, he has showed a lot. He will always be one of my favorites. I still think he should be traded so the youngsters get more looks. The Durham trade was a great move but for some reason Eugenio Velez just annoys me. Too many pick offs. Too many defensive errors. I wish Fradsen was around.

Brian Wilson, Jonathan Sanchez, Fred Lewis, and John Bowker have been great stories. I wouldn't mind having these guys as our core behind Lincecum and Cain for years to come.

49ERS-

I don't like Nolan. I think he is a better salesman than coach but I will root for him to win. He has lost 3 seasons in a row, he has had problems with his players, he doesn't know how to handle the clock, he doesn't make good halftime adjustments, and he doesn't take own up to his mistakes.

I didn't want Martz but i think he can make a huge difference.

All that said, Patrick Willis is a BEAST!

SHAQ-
"TELL ME HOW MY ASS TASTE." Dude, grow up. Kobe is waaaaaaaaay better than you now and I am not a Kobe fan.
