The Little Brother I Never Had

Last Saturday was an amazing day. My brother in law got married. And a lot of times that doesn't mean that much to someone but my brother in law is truly one of my best friends. I could not have imagined that falling in love with the woman of my dreams would also include finally having the little brother I always wanted and never had.

Mike has been an important part of my life for over a decade. I always tried to be there for him and he in turn was always there for me. Through the years of sports and nights out, he stopped being like a brother and he just really became my brother.

I saw him work his butt off for this wedding. I saw him work his butt off in college and in his career. Over the years Mary Anne and i have just been so proud of him. He wanted everything perfect and even though he may remember some of the things that went wrong it during his wedding night, it really was a perfect night! Can I get an awwwww yeah! [well close to perfect :) ]....Can I get some Bon Jove please! :)

It was also extra special to walk down the aisle with my wife. You know how when you are in a wedding and even if you know your partner, it feels weird to interlock arms and all that. Well, my partner was my wife, and I have never felt more comfortable in my life. We were able to relive the magic of our special day by walking down that aisle together again. Little moments like that mean the world to me, of course the walk around that cathedral did take like 10 minutes so it wasn't that little of a moment.

That being said, the ceremony in the cathedral was majestic. The modern St. Mary's Cathedral is an architectureal beauty and it was a perfect setting for a magnificent wedding. I was afraid that the church would look empty but when I walked down that aisle, it looked full. Every row looked to have people sitting in them.

But that night, my family was there, my family friends from san ramon, my old group of core friends, my old co ed softball team friends. There were so many people there that I cared about. And I did feel the love. And I also saw my lil bro just loosen up like I have never seen him before. He even did a sick ass flare like 9 times on the dance floor.

Michi made Mike whole. And I have to admit, they were damn cute together. They compliment each other well. Their bridal party was a ball. Michi's bridesmaids were fun and Mike's groomsmen were just AWESOME to hang out with. I felt like I got closer to all of them. Mac even got me to eat balut with him and Mike the night before the wedding. I know I may have gagged a couple times, but it really wasn't that bad. There were just so many memories from the land yacht ride to the reception (that I can't remember cuz we were all plastered). I would also like to thank Jurex, one of the best men, for being such a great guy. He has been extremely busy but always remains so patient with everyone. He is one of he greatest people I know. And as honored as I was to be a best man, I was even more honored to share the responsibility with such a great guy.

The wedding also featured a photo booth that was full of props that people were loving! The photo booth idea by itself is great and a lot of fun to take pics with your friends and loved ones, but the props made it even more fun. I wish I took a couple more pics but the line was hella long.

Also, real quick, one of the most special moments for me was taking a shot with the fellas. When Jared comes back up, everything just feels right. Our crew is whole again. He binds us all and just listening to him rip on me actually feels good cuz I just miss him being around. (sorry for the man crush mush). Just hanging out with all the old crew just brings me back. Seeing all of them just instantly makes me want to let loose and have a good time. Having Keith back with all of us is icing on the cake!

Its kinda weird cuz Mary Anne and I were wondering how the wedding planning was going every night, always checking in to see if they needed anything and its like what the hell do with my time now? (maybe i should play some softball (wait for next entry))

Now the happy couple is off in Maui and I am sure they are having the time of their lives. I wish them a lifetime of happiness.

Haha, thanks for the props. Man crush, though? Wow, I am flattered...and yes, I will continue to rip on you forever. It's just what I do. Now that I do standup, it's a professional duty, lol.
